TROWA
(Play Me Records, Illeven:Eleven, West Bay Music)
Los Angeles, CA ***1ST STL APPEARANCE***

One of the most promising new artists in 2011 are Trowa. A duo of historical proportions, Trowa (Metaphase & Philthy B.) are making waves with their remixes of Cassius, Keith MacKenzie and originals on Reid Speed’s Play Me Records. No strangers to the scene both of these cats have been cranking out sonic bliss for a minute now. Through their manipulation of sound waves, TROWA takes form through many styles, channeling high-energy music that elevates listeners beyond the construct of society’s dubious ways.

Their first EP of original work titled Bollywood Bandit, is available through Play Me Records and in February you’ll be able to grab one of their remixes on Armanni Reigns' Off The Grid EP, forthcoming on Atlantic Connections’ Westbay Music Group.

DEEJ
(Betamorph Recordings, FurtherSound)
Jacksonville, FL

Drawing his eclectic influences from across Drum and Bass, Breaks, House and even a little Pink Floyd, Betamorph has given DeeJ the perfect platform to unleash his vision of tomorrow’s noise on both national and global levels. With Betamorph growing exponentially, 2009 was a year for traveling, marketing the Betamorph name and dropping tunes in Austin, Houston, Louisiana, Chicago, Orlando, and at least several times in Atlanta. Highlights included DeeJ’s opening set for Scuba in May 2009, the honor of opening for DZ’s Chicago show in August, as well as an epic headlining show for Ghost Industries in September called ESP.

In 2010, DeeJ took this momentum to a new level playing alongside DZ, Noah D, Roommate, Ultrablack, Total Recall, Metaphase, Hulk and a list of other influential acts. Headlining shows in Miami (WMC), Chicago, Grand Rapids, Atlanta, New Mexico, Kansas, Jacksonville, Kansas City, St. Louis and Detroit.

2011 has been no exception to this trend as Betamorph has reached new heights. Summer of 2011 will no doubt be a continuation of this facemelting campaign. Represented by FurtherSound Management, DeeJ is already cementing his place alongside the finest Dubstep purveyors.

NEBULLA
(Code Of Arms, FurtherSound)
New York, NY ***FIRST STL APPEARANCE***

Code Of Arms first appeared in August of 2007 with its own special brand of U.S. dubstep mashed with dirty-south acappellas, dubbed The Dirtystep Mixtape Vol. I. The mixtape was released as a promotional bootleg and received unexpected acclaim. This set the stage for the first official digital releases on C.O.A, followed by a second genre-bending bootleg mixtape in the winter of ‘08. In the summer of 2008 the label released its first vinyl pressing with core members Nebulla and Dore on the buttons.

A New York grown company, Code Of Arms is responsible releasing the 12’ single selections from Wu Tang Meet The Indie Culture Vol2: Enter The Dubstep. C.O.A. boasts a burgeoning roster of artists from across the U.S. and around the globe, including Depone, 6Blocc, Hulk, Lenny Dee, Hellfire Machina, Bombaman and Syndaesia; and the label sports a sizable catalog of distinctive dub-influenced production and synth-heavy club bangers.

JEEKOOS
(Dubfront, WNUR 89.3 FM, FurtherSound)
Chicago, IL ***FIRST STL APPEARANCE***

Jeekoos (the English spelling of the Polish word Dzikus, loosely translated as “a feral woodsman”)

Jeekoos’ love for music started with bands like Kiss, Deep Purple, Motorhead etc. Born in Poland, influenced by his cousin who played bass in various bands, he wanted to go the same route. It wasn’t until he migrated to the U.S. that he finally got a bass guitar of his own and started playing in punk/metal bands around Chicago. Enjoying some electronic music here and there, nothing was stimulating his musical taste quite enough. Always favoring the more intense sound, a house party at the turn of the century introduced Jeekoos to jungle/drum and bass. He fell in love. While already producing hip hop and breakbeat type madness in the late 90′s, he started fusing more DnB style intensity into his productions, which came very naturally and his tracks started getting some radio play on WNUR 89.3fm in Chicago.

A little over a decade ago, Jeekoos joined the Part Time Sucker Radio crew, delivering bass music selections to ever growing audiences throughout the world via various radio stations; WNUR 89.3fm, www.dnbradio.com, www.destroyer.net and eventually www.dubstep.fm.and ran the show alone for a few years, forcing him to start DJing, rapidly expanding his music collection to come fresh on weekly basis.

At the end of 2008, Jeekoos was offered an hour of saturday night airtime on KAKU radio, 88.5fm on the island of Maui, creating SUB808 radio that featured his mixes as well as countless guests from around the globe. The program lasted about a year, when management decided to kick off all of the programming and play Hawaiian and country music only.
A part owner of Dubfront Records, creator and webmaster of Midwest Dubstep Forum, he also supports the scene with gnarly event fliers, and regularly destroys subwoofers at clubs and events all over the country. Jeekoos has supported acts ranging from Kid Cudi to Datsik and everywhere in between.

Jeekoos is influenced by pretty much everything around him, art, people or situations, loving the constant progression of the sound, music has always played a major role in his life and it nothing suggest that it will stop anytime soon…

HENDRIX
(Nasty Rumor, FurtherSound)
St. Louis, MO

Alex Hendrix is one of the hardest working men in the local St. Louis
dubstep scene. Accustomed to both digital DJing and traditional club
techniques, he’s a constant presence behind the decks at regional
mid-west night clubs and house parties. His prior gigs archive include
opening sets for Borgore, Shpongle, Hulk, Vaski, HD4000, Hellfire
Machina and more.

Hendrix is always cranking out new studio mixes, along with being a founding member of “The Wrek Sessions” on Electrolouis.com Internet radio and being the fore front of the in St. Louis’s hardest working crew, Nasty Rumor . But he’s more than just a DJ – he’s also one of the area’s most prolific producers, continually developing his own signature sound with ground-breaking new tracks. Hendrix lives and breathes dubstep, making him one of St. Louis’ secret weapons….

BANDIIT
(Wolf Pack, FurtherSound)
Chicago, IL

Bandiit is the creation of two Wolf Pack co-founders, Chris Hemstreet and Sean McCarthy or WSK and The Car Thief. With their conception in the summer of 2010, these two started playing together to form their passion for bass heavy musics on one stage to as many people as possible. Whether its one person, or thousands, these two bring a kind of energy and aura of people who truly have nothing but a passion for the music, and the urge to perform.

Playing along side some of dubsteps heavyweights, these two bring tunes to the picture that will rock you in your boots. Bring an open mind, and a good attitude and it will be impossible not to grove to the style that makes up the duo, Bandiit.

SUBNOXIOUS
(Dubliminal.com)
Chicago, IL ***1ST STL APPEARANCE***

If there is any question as to what kind of dubstep this Chicago filth
fiend plays, just look at his name, Subnoxious. Known for his rowdy
tune selection and ridiculously quick mixing, Subnoxious has captured
the eyes and ears of the Chicago dubstep scene in an extremely short
period of time. Fresh off headlining Chicago's infamous Smart Bar, he
has now been booked to play alongside dubstep heavyweights Skism.
Nero, Nostalgia, and Trowa, to name a few.

Subnoxious is also the
founder of the North American dubstep blog, DUBliminal.COM, his other
outlet for serving up fresh filth to the masses. If you don't want to
hear your mother's dubstep, come get loud and Subnoxious.
